“Close” doesn’t count when it comes to modern auto repair, especially with today’s advanced technology. Serving the Topeka community since 1993, Doug’s Service Center has witnessed the year-round toll that Kansas’ alternating harsh winters and blazing summers take on vehicles. Our auto mechanics use factory level scan tools for diagnosing, isolating and resolving problems, but they also use their five senses, something other shops and technicians overlook.
Here at Doug’s Service Center, we fix vehicles that have gone to other shops and couldn’t be fixed. Now, we even have some of our competitors sending their difficult vehicles to us to fix for them. “For example, we once had a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, which the previous shop’s technician had fixed the fuel line on,” says Doug Rosencutter, the owner of Doug’s Service Center. “The Dodge Dakota owner still had his original complaint: The truck would should down intermittently.”
“Now possibly the fuel line was one of the causes, but it wasn’t the only one. We inspected the vehicle and found packrats or other vermin had eaten away the soybean-based coating on various wires, which would short out when the truck was moving and result in the shutdowns. A scan tool doesn’t have eyes, nor does it know vermin eating wire coating is common here. But we do and we used them; the other shop’s technician didn’t.”
Customers trust Doug’s Service Center because our auto mechanics bring those experiences to the table along with knowledge, skills, and expertise. Here’s what another customer shared in the five-star review he posted on our website:
“Doug has always done a great job for me. He lets me know what needs to be fixed and the priority of those needs. He has taken care of the vehicle maintenance needs for my vehicles and my children's vehicles as long as they have been driving. I know I can trust the work that is done at Doug's Service Center. Although the prices are competitive, it is the longtime trust in the work that continues to bring me back.” -- Bill S.
