I really hate trying to find a new mechanic. This guy was highly rated on YELP so I tried him out. He got my truck in quickly, despite the full lot he has, and he got it out in two days - because additional work was added. Originally was a radiator thing. 1997 Chevy Silverado 170,000 miles,... in 2021. Always tough to know when to NOT put money into a vehicle. I was quoted 250, and the bill came to $241. He told me that there was a bad head gasket :( Well, it is OLD. So instead of the new head gasket, I asked him to try a liquid sealant. He did,... and according to the directions, it is a time consuming process. It was $100 more and I was good with that. He also took it upon himself to tighten the bolts for the transmission fluid container that had become loose and put it new transmission fluid. He did want to add another $40 for that, but because it was unauthorized, I told him that was unfair, and without hesitation, he took off the charge. I AM grateful for all that he did, but that last act is what has won him my confidence. He took initiative while under the vehicle for a simple repair that would have cost me my truck, and did not insist on the charge. I will trust him.
